Plastic Pedestrian Barriers

Plastic Pedestrian Barriers for work zones and footpaths

Plastic pedestrian barriers mark a hazard and keep people away from it. They are used on building sites, around excavations, during road repairs and in public places where pedestrians pass close to the work. Each barrier is a vertical plastic panel with integrated feet, light to carry and quick to reposition as the work zone shifts.

Compared with steel, plastic barriers weigh around 9 to 11 kg per panel, against up to 20 kg for steel equivalents, so transport costs less and two workers can set out a line. They do not rust, need no painting and are easy to clean. A damaged panel is replaced on its own without touching the rest of the line. Steel still wins where heavy mechanical loads are likely; for those, choose steel crowd control barriers.

Reflective barriers for road works and excavations

Most models carry red-and-white reflective film that stays visible by day, at night and in poor weather. REVIA has a 25 cm red-and-white reflective stripe, SCAVIA a 15 cm horizontal stripe plus reflective strips on the vertical bars, and NEOS a single 15 cm stripe. All three measure 2000 × 1000 × 50 mm and weigh 10.7 kg. GATE, at 11.2 kg, stands on 360° swivel feet that let you set it at an angle, and the GATE SHORT 1 m version fits tight spaces.

THOR and TOROS are plastic traffic barrier models for road works, larger at 2060 × 1060 × 50 mm and 9.5 kg each. Both are Polish class U-20 barriers, and THOR carries a 25 cm reflective stripe. The range also includes the Traffic Barrier U-20a and the EUROVISION plastic pedestrian barrier.

Folding manhole barriers

An open manhole, channel or small excavation needs guarding on all sides, not just a straight line. The GARDIAN folding manhole barrier opens out into four panels that close a protective zone around the opening; it comes in 75 cm and 100 cm versions, the smaller one for tighter spaces. The UTILITY folding manhole barrier also has four panels of 1000 × 1000 × 20 mm and weighs 8.4 kg. Both are folding designs, and UTILITY is available on request.

Plastic crowd control barriers for events

At concerts, sports events, festivals, trade fairs and exhibitions the job is to steer people, not to warn them of a hazard. The ENIGMA and BOSS plastic crowd control barrier models measure 2000 × 1100 × 50 mm and weigh 9.9 kg. ENIGMA has no reflective elements and lays out routes and queues at large events; BOSS is the plain version without warning markings. At 1100 mm, both are 10 cm taller than the 1000 mm models and hold back crowd flow without being fixed to the ground.

Frequently asked questions

Are plastic pedestrian barriers filled with water?

No. They are vertical plastic panels on integrated feet. The line barriers are 1000 to 1100 mm high and weigh about 9 to 11 kg, so there is nothing to fill or drain.

Which plastic barrier suits road works?

THOR and TOROS plastic traffic barriers (Polish class U-20) are designed for road works. Along footpaths next to the work, REVIA, SCAVIA and NEOS add clear reflective stripes.

How do I guard an open manhole?

Use a folding manhole barrier: GARDIAN in 75 cm or 100 cm, or UTILITY with four 1000 × 1000 mm panels.

Plastic or steel barriers?

Plastic barriers are lighter, do not rust and need no painting. Steel crowd control barriers are the better choice where heavy crowd pressure or mechanical loads are expected.
